Business Structure
Think about how you will be conducting business.
Do you plan to work alone with no helpers or employees? If you plan to have employees or your own contract labor, you may want to consider getting an Employer Identification Number (EIN) with the IRS. Having an EIN will protect your personal information and social security number, in the event that you intend to deduct your contract labor costs on your income taxes. Arkansas Contractors Licensing Board
The state of Arkansas requires anyone that is not working as an employee and is performing any service on residential real estate in excess of $2,000 to have a Contractor's License or be registered as a Subcontractor. Click here for more information regarding licensing.
